Bayt com App Review

Job search has evolved over recent years, with hundreds of companies piling in to the space, Bayt.com is one of the leading online recruitment websites in MENA region and in this review we will take a quick look at Bayt.com Android App feature by feature.

1. Job Search:

Job search allows you to look for openings by selecting a country and entering a keyword related to the target job you are looking for; the app keeps track of your search history and saves it for you so you can get back to it later. The search is not 100% accurate because it looks for the keywords you provided in the entire job description so you end up with various related-positions, it would be better if they provided an option to look only through the titles and not to include the description in the search query.

One of the features that I really like about the app is the ability to apply directly from your smartphone, and also the ability to share openings with your connections on Facebook and Twitter.

2. Recommended Jobs:

Based on the information you provided on your profile, Bayt.com recommends openings that fits to your target job title, location, Industry, type, status and salary and list them for you in this section.

3. My Job Alerts:

You can set up alerts using certain keywords, and also you can specify the location, industry job role, gender, minimum monthly salary and other filters, one thing I found a bit inconvenient about this feature, It is that you cant add an alert from the app, you need to login to the site either from a desktop browser or with the "desktop view" mode enabled on a smartphone to set an alert.

4. My Job Applications:

This is a pretty cool feature that allows you to track the status of jobs you have applied to, each opening on Bayt.com has an expiration date and the app splits them for you and shows you applications that still valid or expired in different tabs.

5. My CVs:

One of the things that makes Bayt.com a unique platform is the ability to have multiple CVs on your profile, and not just in different languages, each CV could be specific to a certain industry or a certain employer. Using the application you can view statistics about your CVs, you can view when every CV you provided was last modified, views and searches per CV and applications status directly from the app. Also you can view CVs you have posted, email them or set a default CV.

6. My Personal Info:

From here you can edit your basic info such as profile picture, name, email address and contact information, But you can only update the photo directly from the camera and not from the gallery.

7. My Stats:

This tab shows you a limited number of statistics including number of times CV views, number if times CV searched and CV search ratio. It would be much better if there were some graphs included too.

8. Notification Settings:

Here you can control push notifications about Job alerts and CV activities as it happens. And manage what notifications to be sent directly to your phone to inform you about new openings that fit the profile of your alert.
