HTC Windows Phone 8X and 8S priced

CMK Cellphones has the HTC Windows Phone 8X and 8S listed as "coming soon". The price quoted for the HTC Windows Phone 8X is Php24,500, while the lower end HTC Windows Phone 8X is listed at Php14,500.

The Windows Phone 8X at Php24,500 is priced competitively enough. This phone, as its name indicates runs Windows Phone 8, has a sharp 4.3-inch HD display (720 x 1280), a good quality 8 MP camera, 16 GB of internal storage and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz Krait.

The lower end Windows Phone 8S at Php14,500 and looks to be the better deal. This phone has a smaller 4-inch WVGA display (480 x 800), is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz Krait, has a decent 5 MP camera and 4 GB of internal storage,. The internal storage is expandable via a MicroSD card. Looking at its competition, this has the best processor available at it price range.

You may have heard the mentions of a Mini N9 every now and again, perhaps either when the news of Meltemi arose or later perhaps as you saw the new Asha’s with a very MeeGo-Harmattan esque swipe.

I have seen new Nokia Asha phone which was leaked a few weeks ago around MWC event.

The phone design looks beautiful and you can say it’s new Nokia N9 Mini version.

New features are as following:

You can switch to different screen with swipe gesture. And it’s not like previous Asha phones, it’s real swipe like we have seen in N9

This is the from the same designer as the previous images and is designed to show how a larger black iPhone 6 model and a smaller iPhone 5S would look next to the current iPhone 5 model. Overall, the concept shows a smarter, sleeker-looking handset, one that no longer features a Home button and appears to be a lot slimmer. We hope the actual device ends up looking something like this – take note Jony Ive.

After a longer study, however, we have to admit we find this design rather ugly. It’s too extreme and doesn’t really tie in with Apple’s design principles. The Home button also looks gross with a bizarre white circle in it.

The Nokia 5630 XpressMusic with Say and Play function

It’s been a while since Nokia has been in the news but that could also be because of LG’s KM900 and Samsung’s plethora of handsets making their way to MWC. Nokia has in fact announced an addition to their music range of handsets – the 5630XpressMusic.

Sony Ericsson announced launch of two Walkman phones, the Sony Ericsson Zylo and Sony Ericsson Spiro. Other than its focusing on music features, the walkman phones are also following the trend with integration of social networking capability to follow your friends or update your status.

Compare to Spiro, the Sony Ericsson Zylo has a higher specifications with 2.6-inch display, UTMS/HSPA, Gesture Control, 3.2 megapixel camera, Track ID, microSD card slot and FM Radio Receiver. It supports FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) audio codec for high quality music listening on top of MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAc+/WMA format. The Zylo also has an interesting feature, letting you play an background sound while you are chatting with your friends. It is preloaded with sounds so that you can pretend to be at work, walking on street or in a restaurant. Sadly, 3.5mm headphone jack is not available on this model.
